Am I eligible?
Customers must be aged between 18 - 69, and a resident in the UK. Children are covered free.
What does the plan cover?
7 types of female cancers being Breast, Ovarian, Cervical, Fallopian Tubes, Uterus, Vagina and Vulva. The cover can be extended to men and will cover male cancers being Breast, Prostate, Penis and Testicles. Children are covered free.
Are there any exclusions?
The main exclusions are:
If you are diagnosed as having cancer, get medical advice, have symptoms or tests, or receive any medication or treatment for cancer within the 90 days of your cover start date, however in this case we will refund to you all premiums paid and your cover will be cancelled (does not apply to hospitalisation benefit).
For the cancer for which you are claiming if you have been diagnosed with the same cancer before your cover starts.
For any cancer directly or indirectly caused by any pre-existing condition (whether diagnosed or not) before your cover starts. A pre-existing condition is any medical condition of which you were aware or not, and whether diagnosed or not, for which before the start date of your cover you received medication, advice, treatment or experienced symptoms.
For any tumours which are histologically (the study of tumours and cells under the microscope) described as:
- Pre-malignant (cells that have not yet turned to cancer); or
- In relation to any malignant tumour, non-invasive (cells that remain in the original tissue where they were formed)
If you have carcinoma-in-situ of a covered female organ other than the breast (In this circumstance day-case surgery benefit applies)

For joint policies need age of partner, add the 2 individual premiums and deduct £2.
Do my premiums increase as I get older?
Yes, when you move into the next five year age band, you will be notified in writing before your premium increases.
What are the benefits?
Up to £25,000 with Standard cover plus day care surgery benefit.
Is my payment tax-free?
Yes. It is free from income tax, under current legislation, but may be subject to inheritance tax and other taxes.
Where does the money go if I die?
The money will go to your legal representative
How do I make a claim?
You can notify us of a claim either by phone on 020 8662 8108 or in writing to AIG DIRECT, 96 George Street, Croydon CR9 1BU.
Can I cancel my policy? / How do I cancel my policy?
You can cancel your policy at any time. If you cancel within 15 days of receiving your policy (or within 15 days of the start date shown on your schedule if this is later) you will be entitled to a full refund of that premium. We will provide the refund to you within 30 days from the date we receive your notice of cancellation.
If you cancel after the 15 day period there will be no refund of premium.

You mention a counselling service in your advert
The WellWoman Plan also includes the WellWoman Advisory Care Service which gives you access to specialist cancer nurses for advice and counselling for an unlimited time after your diagnosis.
You mention a day case surgery in your advert - what's that?
Day case surgery is a hospital procedure performed under anaesthetic in an operating theatre not requiring an overnight stay in hospital. The day case surgery benefit is paid if you are treated for early stage cancer [Carcinoma in situ] in which the disease is confined to the cell where it first appeared in the female and male organs covered by WellWoman plan, except the breast where the full diagnosis benefit would be payable.

No medical is required to take advantage of the plan
