Am I eligible?

Provided you are aged 50 years or over and permanently resident in the UK.

What does the plan cover me for?

The Plan pays out a cash sum for a range of injuries including fractures, dislocations, burns and permanent disabilities such as loss of limbs, sight or hearing. A one off hospitalisation benefit is also available if an accident results in bodily Injury requiring hospital confinement, as an in-patient for two or more days, this benefit is only applicable where no other benefit is payable. Full details of your cover will be sent with your policy document.

What are the cash benefits?

The maximum amount payable under this policy in respect of an insured person is £15,000 for Standard Cover.

The Standard Cover benefits are:

There is a limit of one payment for each dislocation benefit shown above, except for fingers and toes where the limit is one payment for each finger or toe. This restriction applies to each Insurec Person for the lifetime of the policy.

All Premiums are payable monthly and include 5% insurance premium tax.

N.B If osteoporosis or pathological fracture is diagnosed for the first time when you claim for a fracture we will of course pay a valid claim but your cover will stop.

Can you tell me more about the hospitalisation benefit?

You are entitled to the hospitalisation benefit following an accident which results in bodily Injury requiring hospital confinement, as an in-patient for two or more days, this benefit is only applicable where no other benefit is payable

The maximum benefit payable for Standard cover is £50

Who can I cover?

You can cover yourself and your partner or spouse if aged 50 years or over (see below for premiums).

Are there any exclusions and limitations?

Yes, they can be found in the Policy Document.

Exclusions:

The following are significant exclusions or limitations:

No benefit is payable:

- For a fractured bone if you have been diagnosed with osteoporosis or pathological fracture before the start of your policy;
- If your injuries are the result of a sickness or disease;
- If you die within three months of the accident.

Benefits for permanent disabilities covered by the plan will be reduced if you have an existing physical or medical condition which contributes to a permanent disability you suffer after a covered accident.

Only one benefit for loss of sight in both eyes or loss of both hands, both feet or a hand and a foot is payable, and cover stops from the date of the accident.

If Osteoporosis or Pathological Fracture is diagnosed for the first time when you claim for a fracture, the plan will pay a valid claim but then your cover for fracture benefits will stop.

How much will the plan cost me?

Standard Single cover is £4,95 and joint cover is £8.75 (Including 5% IPT tax)

What if I want to pay annually?

You can make a lump sum payment if you prefer. Simply multiply the monthly premium you have chosen by 12 and send us a cheque for this amount payable to AIG Direct. Please send your completed acceptance form and cheque to AIG Direct, 96 George Street, Croydon, CR9 1BU.

Am I covered for injuries away from work too?

Yes. If you suffer a qualifying injury you are covered, no matter where it takes place. This includes injuries sustained overseas, and while playing recreational sport.

Will I need to take a medical?

No medical examination is required to take out this Plan.

Am I covered immediately?

Yes, as soon as we receive your correctly completed web application form

How do I make a claim?

You can notify us of a claim either by phone on 020 8662 8101 or in writing to AIG DIRECT, 96 George Street, Croydon CR9 1BU.

Can I cancel my policy? How do I cancel my policy?

You can cancel your policy at any time. If you cancel within 15 days of receiving your policy (or within 15 days of the start date shown on your schedule if this is later) you will be entitled to a full refund of that premium. We will provide the refund to you within 30 days from the date we receive your notice of cancellation.

If you cancel after the 15 day period there will be no refund of premium.

Can you offer any advice?

We are unable to provide advice as to the suitability of the Insurance Plan for your circumstances, you should check your existing policies to ensure that there is no overlap with any other cover that you have.
